Is Donald Trump Really a Christian?

If you are voting for Donald Trump because he is a Christian, I have some bad news for you: he’s not.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another.
1 Titus 3:3 (NET)

Trump made millions from the collapse of his casinos, but everyone else involved lost money – worst of all, his employees, who trusted him. That’s the epitome of greed, envy, and the misleading of people. And his hatred and enslavement to passion should be obvious to anyone.

Even worse:

Whoever has the world’s possessions and sees his fellow Christian in need and shuts off his compassion against him, how can the love of God reside in such a person?
1 John 3:17 (NET)

If any of those employees were Christians, the Bible makes it clear that Trump’s attitude towards them proves that he has no love for God… or anyone else.

If anyone says “I love God” and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
1 John 4:20 (NET)

Everyone who hates his fellow Christian is a murderer
1 John 3:15a (NET)

The one who loves his fellow Christian resides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But the one who hates his fellow Christian is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
1 John 2:10 (NET)

Did you know that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are Christians? Trump clearly hates them, and encourages his followers to do the same. Once again, the Bible makes it clear that such a person is not a follower of Jesus.

I will leave you with the most important lesson Jesus ever taught us, which is one Trump needs to learn. It sums up all of the Old Testament law into two simple rules, simultaneously summing up what it really means to be a Christian.

“Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is: ‘Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:28b-31 (NET)
